Location-aware attendance sounds complicated. In practice it is a clock in, a clock out and the site context that makes both records meaningful.
The problem with retrospective timesheets
Timesheets filled in at the end of the week are estimates. They create payroll disputes and give you nothing to show a client who wants to know whether their site was attended on a specific night.
What actually happens at clock in
The employee opens the mobile app, sees the shift they were allocated and clocks in. Location context is captured at that moment and stored with the attendance record for the site.
At the end of the shift they clock out, and the record closes with a start and finish time tied to the site.
What it is not
Location-aware attendance is not continuous tracking. Capture happens around the clock in and clock out events, which is what makes the record useful without turning the app into a monitoring tool.
Where the value shows up
Payroll queries drop because the record is the record. Supervisors see late starts while there is still time to act. And client reporting stops depending on someone's recollection.
