Rostering
Employee Rostering for Multi-Site Operations
By FieldServicer Team · · 6 min read
Rostering ten people at one site is a spreadsheet. Rostering a hundred across forty sites is an operational discipline.
Start from the site, not the person
Multi-site rosters are easier to reason about when you plan the coverage each site requires first, then allocate people to it. Coverage gaps become visible before they become phone calls.
Use recurring patterns for the stable work
Most contracts have a predictable base. Setting recurring shift patterns for that base leaves your attention free for genuine exceptions like leave, short-notice work and relief coverage.
Publish changes rather than announce them
A roster change that lives in a group chat is not a roster change. When updates publish to the mobile app, the field always sees the current plan and there is a record of what was published.
Keep the record
Retained rosters answer payroll queries, support client conversations and provide the evidence trail that compliance reviews depend on.
