Patrol Management
Security Patrol Management: QR vs NFC vs Beacons
By FieldServicer Team · · 7 min read
Three ways to prove a patrol happened. Each suits a different kind of site — here is how to choose.
QR codes
Inexpensive to produce and easy to replace. Well suited to indoor checkpoints and sites where you may need to add or move points frequently.
NFC tags
More durable in outdoor and industrial environments, and quick to register with a tap. A good fit where checkpoints are permanent.
Beacons
Useful where physically reaching a checkpoint is impractical, or where you want checkpoint activity recorded across a broader area.
Choosing a mix
Most operations end up with a mix, chosen site by site. What matters is that every method produces the same patrol record and the same exception visibility.
